10 STEPS TO HARVEST AND JUICE YOUR FIRST LIME SCOOTER
1.Apply here to Juice Limes. And wait. This part really stinks but the truth of the matter is, everyone wants a quick and easy side gig. Don’t worry too much if you don’t hear back right away. They have many applications every day.
2) Follow up. There is a difference between active waiting and inactive waiting. Be active. Follow-up with customer service. Send emails. My chargers were approved within minutes of the third follow-up email that I sent to them. My guess, following-upgave them a reason to look at my account and it was approved. Just send a short email every few days respectfully requesting them to look at your account.
3) Chargers. Once approved, your codes to order your chargers will arrive. There is not a standard process. Every city is a bit different and not everyone gets the same amount.
4) Juicer Mode. We received a box of four chargers (as promised) and then a box of four more chargers (surprise). The elementary age kid was so excited! He couldn’t wait to harvest Limes. But, wait! How do you harvest Limes? Once you are approved as a juicer and have your chargers, they turn on the Juicer Mode in your app. In theory. For us, and many others, this prompts more emails to LimeCustomer Support asking them to turn on the Juicer Mode. How do you know that you have Juicer Mode? Check out my picture. In our case, after a couple of emails over the course of a week to customer service, someone finally replied, sent all the contract paperwork that I had already signed, and asked me to sign it again. Once everything was in and confirmed, Voilà’, I could charge!
5) Harvest Limes. This part is easy and Lime covers it well in their onboarding videos. So, I won’t cover it here. But, I did learn some important time saving (and money making) strategies. Keep reading!
6) Harvest Limes after 9:00 PM. First, in most markets, at 9:00 PM, dead and slowly dying Limes pop up on your Juicer Mode Harvest map. See the dollar sign above the Lime, it’s ready to Harvest. Also, Limes that drop below 20% battery during the day become available to Harvest. If you grab it quickly, you can make daytime money, too.
7) Not all Limes are Harvestable after 9:00 PM. If the battery level is above 80%, you can’t harvest it. Here’s what I learned to do, after a bit of trial and error. When I arrive at a location with a harvestable Lime, I ring the bell. Do this from the Harvest Mode in your App. Click on Harvest and scan that Lime’s barcode. Don’t assume that all the Limes in the area are harvestable. I found this one clump of Limes by some dorms and I assumed they were ready to be harvest. At least three were on the map. I didn’t think to ring the bells and I kept scanning Limes that weren’t ready. We wasted time while others were loading their cars up with Limes. Don’t be time wasters. Good side hustlers leverage time and money.
8) Prepare a Lime Harvest strategy in advance. Here’s how: open the rider map. See the battery bar attached to the Lime? Look for Limes that show a low battery, below 80%, or a range of about 18 miles or less. Take a few minutes to plan your route. Drive to the first Lime and prepare to harvest as soon as it pops up on the rider map. This is less necessary in larger cities with more Limes.
9) Navigate wisely to harvest the most Limes. This is a no-brainer. Go directly to each Lime. Since many Limes are not harvestable it doesn’t work to wander the streets grabbing Limes. It works best with a two-person crew. The driver, drives. Trust me, it’s hard to drive, watch the harvest map, and watch for Limes at the same time. Let the navigator navigate and the driver drives and load Limes. Here is what we do. While my husband drives, I find the Lime and navigate to it. I use Google Maps so he can hear the turn by turn directions. We locate the Lime, I hop out of the car and scan the Lime. He loads it while I click on the next nearest Lime and have navigation on and ready when he gets in the car. If there are lots of ofHarvestable Limes in the area, you may forgo this step. Ours are a bit more spread out over one section of town.
10) Always Harvest your Limes before loading. Y’all, there are hoarders out there and they spoil the fun (and earning potential). They grab all the Limes they can get and scan them out later. They also hide Limes in their garages. These Limes are online and could earn money for Lime but instead, they aren’t being used. Which is against the rules. The best way to maintain your account is to Harvest Limes on the Harvest Map and scan immediately. Seriously, hoarders are turned in and their accounts are turned off.
