Privacy Policy
We are:
Shannon and David Rains, just a couple of parents sharing what we have learned with you. Our website address is: http://www.familysidegigs.com
Disclaimer
The views, thoughts, and opinions expressed on Family Side Gigs belong solely to the authors, Shannon or David Rains, and not our employer, organization, committee or other group or individual. As is the nature of blogs, we fully expect our views to change over time, either through the effects of age or wisdom, you take your pick.
I repeat: the views on this website are our views and not that of our employers or university.
Affiliate Links
Yes, we have those. If you click on them, we might make money.
Comments
When a visitor leaves a comment on our page, the page will collect that comment, and through all of the magic and wizardry of the WordPress, it will record the comment. By submitting your comments to this site, you are giving your express approval for it to be made public, as it will automatically become public, probably without any of us realizing what happened, just as soon as you push the magic button. As I tell my kids, don’t write anything on a webpage, comment section, blog, social media, etc. that you would not want your grandma, minister, employer, or spouse to read.
Hold Harmless
We tell you about things we’ve tried. We will be honest about those things. But, we have no control over if they will work for you. If it doesn’t, remember it was your decision to try it or buy it. We cannot guarantee that you will have any of our experiences, good or bad, with the products and suggestions made by this website.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
When you submit your contact information, you give us permission to contact you. If you change your mind, opt out through the link provided on the email communication. Simple. Oh! And, don’t put your friend’s contact information in our contact forms without their permission. Your friends will get you back for that and that will not be our fault, either.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. They want to know that you visited their stuff on this site and they will use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content. We don’t know why, who knows if anyone ever looks at that stuff, but you should know that it happens here and everywhere else on the web.
Analytics
Our website collects all interesting information about our visitors, such as where they are from and the pages that they viewed. This helps us know that we are doing a good job.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. Seriously, I hate cleaning house so I’m definetly not cleaning out the comments from a blog post. Just sayin’.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
